WNY to swear in three new cops, and honor Babe Ruth League

WEST NEW YORK — It’s a swell season for baseball in West New York as the town sends off its 15-member Babe Ruth League off to Surprise, Arizona to compete in the 15-U World Series, to be held at the Kansas City Royals’ very own professional training facility between July 23 and 28. The team took the competition by storm with a 13-and-0 season that earned them a place in the state championships. They won the state tournament last weekend in Little Ferry against eight teams statewide, which gave them a crack at the World Series next week. West New York Police Department, Police Director Robert Antolos, Commissioner of Public Safety Caridad Rodriguez, Babe Ruth Coach Lou Nagurka and Team, Mayor Felix E. Roque and the Board of Commissioners will meet up Friday, July 19, 12 p.m. at West New York Town Hall, second floor.
