JERSEY CITY — Sgt. Robert Kearns, Jersey City Police Superior Officers Association President, and Carmine Disbrow, Jersey City Police Officers Benevolent Association President, announced Friday that both unions will be donating over $3,000 to help Jersey City host its Annual “National Night Out Against Crime” Festivities.
Disbrow said today that when he was notified that the city had to scale back from four parks to two parks to host National Night Out festivities due to financial constraints, he felt it was incumbent on the unions to help.
Anyone interested in volunteering for the event is asked to call the union office. All Community groups are invited and welcome to attend the Festivities. National Night Out events will be hosted at Pershing Field, Arlington Park, Audubon Park and Hamilton Park, on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Hot dogs, pop corn, and refreshments will be served. The children can enjoy bounce tents and clowns who will make balloon sculptures for them to take home.
