The 10U Bayonne Barracudas made it 13 in a row with a 15-3 opening round playoff win over Roseland down Bayonne Little League.
Edmund Broderick had 2 singles and a double, Landon Paradine and Glenn Bandinelli 3 singles each, Rami Amin doubled and singled while Ian Wilson, Nick Valencia, Eric Jun and Aidan Calcaterra all singled. Broderick scored 3 times while Paradine, Calcaterra and Wilson all scored twice. Paradine drove in 3 while Broderick, Bandinelli and Amin all drove in 2.
Valencia went the first 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs, 5 hits, walked 3 and struck out 5 to earn the win. Broderick got credit for the save, pitching 1/3 innings, striking out 1.

Bayonne Barracudas 14
Millburn 2

The 10U Bayonne Barracudas made it 14-0 with a 14-2 win over a game Millburn ball-club. The game was called after 4 innings due to the mercy rule.
Dane Lucarelli and Edmund Broderick each doubled and singled, Glenn Bandinelli and Matt Nilan each singled twice while Kirby Lopez, Greg VanSant, Aidan Calcaterra and Landon Paradine each singled. Colin Hundley, VanSant and Bandinelli all scored twice. Lucarelli and Nilan drove in 3 each, while Paradine drove in 2.
Paradine went the first 2 and a 1/3 innings, allowing 2 runs, 4 hits, 0 walks and 6 strikeouts. Broderick finished up, going 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 walks and 2 strikeouts.
Landon Paradine, Dane Lucarelli, Edmund Broderick, Aidan Calcaterra, Glenn Bandinelli, Rami Amin, Erik Jun, Greg Van Sant, Ian Wilson, Colin Hundley, Matt Dobronsky, Kirby Lopez, Nick Valencia, Matt Nilan and Ryan Rzpenski are the nucleus of this 10U team – with the support of Manager Tom Cotter (and the organizational skills of Stef Cotter (and God knows what else she has been doing to support the boys)), coach Dave Broderick and coach Ed Paradine (along with the financial support of our local businesses/business people and the tremendous support from the parents and friends of our Little League).

Barracuda 10U Win Championship

The 10U Bayonne Barracudas made it a perfect 15-0 season, winning the Suburban League Championship with a 9-5 win over Madison down Bayonne Little League in front of a large crowd.
Edmund Broderick went 3 for 3 with 2 very long home runs, 1 3 runner and a solo shot and singled. Dane Lucarelli had 2 singles while Aidan Calcaterra, Glenn Bandinelli, Eric Jun, Matt Nilan and Kirby Lopez all singled. Landon Paradine and Broderick each scored twice apiece – Broderick drove in 4 runs.
Broderick went the first 4 and 1/3 innings for the win (his 3rd of year), allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 3 hits, 5 walks and 7 strikeouts. Paradine came in and saved the game (his 3rd), allowing 0 runs, 1 hit, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.
The kids finished with an overall .458 batting average, a .598 OBP, outscored their opponents 191-51 (per game average of 12.73 versus 3.40) and had 10 kids pitch for them throughout the year. The offense had 174 hits with 124 walks (with 16 hit batters), which equals a lot of base runners. The boys struck out 63 times while our pitching struck out 118 – our pitchers allowed 63 hits, walked 57 through the year with 10 hit batters.
The boys took their coaches, parents and fans on a ride that each of them will never forget. A special shout out to Tom and Stephanie Cotter, who started the Bayonne Barracuda organization a couple of years ago – this was their first championship.
