A funeral mass was offered Aug. 12 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, North Bergen, for Carlos Sanz-Batista, 37, of Bergenfield, formerly of North Bergen. He passed away Aug. 9. Born in Madrid, Spain he was a Police Detective for the North Bergen Police Dept and a member of it’s honor guard. He previously was a police officer for the Hudson County Sheriff ‘s office. Husband of Michelle Santana; father of two year old Estela Sofia Sanz; son of Elba I. Batista and Carlos Sanz-Barreiro; brother of Juan Sanz-Batista and his wife Monica Morales. Uncle of Myles Morales. Services arranged by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
