FORTUNATO, IDA M.

Funeral services took place Aug. 3 for Ida M. Fortunato, 93, of West Palm Beach, Fla. She passed away July 25. She was born and raised in Union City. During her life Ida had been a secretary for the Union City Board of Education. She retired in 1980. While living there she was a member of the Union City Lyons Club, VFW and American Legion. Ida had been past president of the PTA of the Union City serving in the schools that her children attended. Moving to West Palm Beach after their retirement, she and her late husband Paul Fortunato, Sr. (2007) eoyed traveling and many other club activities. Along with her late husband, Ida was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Agnes Meister, her brothers William and Edward, and her sister Emma and son-in-law Ted Engelbrecht. She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Joseph (Loretta) Fortunato, Sr., Patricia (Vincent) Guastella, Barbara Engelbrecht, Paul (Stephanie) Fortunato, Jr., Robert (Mila) Fortunato Sr. and Gary (Carol) Fortunato, 29 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, her brother Francis (Betty) Meister numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Services arranged by the Dorsey – E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, lake Worth, Fla.
