Bayonne Recreation Division to offer tennis lessons this fall

Mayor Mark A. Smith has announced that the Recreation Division will offer tennis lessons for ages 3-14, every Wednesday, from September 25 to October 30.
The U.S. Sports Institute (USSI) is the number-one provider of sports programs and camps in the county. Following U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) curricula, the USSI tennis clinic is a fast and easy way to develop individual skills. The program offers a wide variety of drills and games suited to the ability level and age of every person who attends.
The USSI follows curricula and guidelines laid out by the USTA, which includes the highly praised Quick Start Tennis Format. At every level, participants will learn the basic fundamentals in stroke production, court movement, and footwork skills, all in a low-pressure environment. It’s all about fun, with games, games, and more games. Group and individual games are played in all sessions.
All sessions run for six weeks. Makeup classes will take place after the last scheduled session.
The 3-4 year olds meet from 3:30– 4:15 p.m.; 5-7 year olds meet from 4:30– 5:30 p.m.; 8-10 year olds meet from 5:30-6:30 p.m.; and 11-14 year olds meet from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
The fee for the 6-week program for ages 5-14 is $90/participant. The fee for the 3-4 year olds is $79/participant.
