Got milk?: Neutral Milk Hotel to play Landmark Loew’s in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY – Okay, we geezers who remember The Cure and Bauhaus have no clue who these folks are, and even the Nine Inch Nails generation might be a little puzzled. But our Millennial coworker claims this news is huge, just HUGE!
“Oh, my God, you gotta post that online!”
So, trusting his word, here it goes: Neutral Milk Hotel, whoever they are, will be coming to the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theatre on January 14.
The back story to this group is apparently that the lead singer, Jeff Mangam, developed a fear of public spaces, which crimped the band’s ability to tour for, like, 15 years or something. He has said he experienced “a spiritual breakdown” in the late 1990s.
Anyway, tickets are $38.50 through www.TicketFly.com. So for those of you who have actually heard “Two-Headed Boy” or “Kind of the Carrot Flowers,” get those tickets ASAP. The coworker says this thing could sell out. – E. Assata Wright
