North Bergen children invited to free Halloween party
The free township Halloween party will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the North Bergen Recreation Center.
The event is open to all North Bergen residents from infant through nine years old. Registration is not required.
Children will receive a goody bag and pick a pumpkin and exit the building. Then they will also have the opportunity to either ride a pony or go on a hayride.

Galaxy Mall holding holiday bazaar on Oct. 20
The 13th annual Galaxy Mall Arts, Crafts & Gifts Holiday Bazaar will be held on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the mall, 7000 Boulevard East, Guttenberg.
The event is sponsored by the Social & Cultural Committee of the Galaxy Mall.
“In past years, we have had over 80 vendors filling the Galaxy Mall upstairs and downstairs with quality arts, crafts, and collectibles,” said Martha Norget, committee co-chair. “We are looking forward to again this year having a successful event.”
Proceeds from the event go to the community, as well as to charities.
Macy’s holding job fairs at North Bergen libraries
The North Bergen Free Public Library will host three Macy’s job fairs at its two facilities.
Applications will be for seasonal warehouse associate positions at the department store.
The first job fair will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kennedy Branch, 2123 Kennedy Blvd.
The second will be on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the main library, 8411 Bergenline Ave.
The third will be on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the main library.

Palisades Medical Center holding community health screening
Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen takes an active role in the community by partnering with the North Hudson Community Action Corporation, Christ Hospital School of Nursing, and Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey to provide free health screenings and education programs.
The next of these screenings is Sunday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at St. Rocco Roman Catholic Church, 4206 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Union City.
Free screenings and information will be available on blood pressure, heart rate, percentage of oxygen in the blood, peak flow/respiratory, body mass index, sugar and cholesterol.

Park Players presenting ‘Wizard of Oz’ in November
The Park Players, formerly of The Park Theatre in Union City and Weehawken, has announced its fall production of “The Wizard of Oz,” which will be held on Nov. 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 10 and 17 at 5 p.m., at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 1576 Palisade Ave., Fort Lee.
The performance includes many residents of Hudson County, including North Bergen, Guttenberg, and Union City.
