To the Editor:
I am very sorry that I did not ask the coordinator, Colleen, her last name at a cancer run in Hudson County Park this past weekend. This most worthy event was very properly planned to detail and was done to make everyone feel that they were important. This large crowd encircled the rim of the lower park with everyone wearing something in hot pink and were the nicest of people (Some I first met when I worked at Veterans Stadium—their kids now in college—I feel old). Este Lauder (my wife loves the Bonus Time) should feel real proud of an employee who gives back to the community where she and her very caring husband live. Thanks for the two tables of gifts picked by the little kids, I being one of the recipients. This event plus two others (Knights of Columbus Wounded Warrior can drive and UNICO District 7 Bergen County Christopher Columbus wreath-laying ceremony) made my weekend enjoyable and busy. Looking forward to the sixth year of this event. How did I miss the first four? Este Lauder should know what a very, very caring employee she is, and that the thousands of dollars she collected for the most worthiest of causes were 100 percent given to charity. What a way to spend a morning.
