At (0-1) the Colts looked to get on track as they faced the (0-0) Jets in a JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Jr. Division bout. The Jets’ Alejandro Cifuentes got things rolling with a 30 yard TD dash followed by Declan McCormick’s interception as the Jets impressed early. The Colts answered as Ahmad McGill rushed wire to wire for a TD followed by Kasper Hooks’ 2 point grab making it 8-6, Colts. One play later, Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes flew coast to coast for his second TD and after reeling in a two point toss the Jets led 14-8. The Jets added to their lead as Alanis Concepcion sailed in on a 22 yard TD jaunt while Declan McCormick’s two point grab lifted the Jets out to a 22-8 advantage. After two pass attempts to Michael Aziz and Kyle Arano, QB Chris Ballance handed off to Ahmad McGill who once again worked his magic with a zone to zone gallop making it 22-14, Jets. With the Colts in hot pursuit, the Jets got a huge boost as Aaliyana Cifuentes sprinted full court to give the Jets a 28-14 lead. Late in the game, the Colts closed the gap to 28-22 as McGill notched his third long distance TD run followed by Kasper Hooks making a leaping two point catch but after a dramatic finish the Jets’ six point lead held.
