At the start of the second half, the Bears’ Nicholas Resua made it 18-12 with a zone to zone TD sweep. After two quick tosses to Alanis Concepcion and Benjamin Stack, QB Declan McCormick pitched out to Alejandro Cifuentes who sprinted in for his third TD run followed by McCormicks’ 2 point blast to give the Jets a 26-12 lead. As the Jets’ offense racked up points, the Bears’ Nicholas Resua helped his squad keep pace with a goal to goal TD and two point dash to pull the Bears to within 6 at 26-20. Resua then boosted the Bears cause by pilfering a Jets’ pass at mid court to setup Ryan Griffin’s 10 yard TD grab while Resua’s two point sprint gave the Bears their first lead of the game at 28-26. Right before the two minute warning, the Jets’ defense stepped up to tie the bout as they corralled the Bears’ ball carrier for a safety tying the game at 28 all. With time winding down, the Bears’ defense sealed the deal as Matt Miceli, Jordan Neustein, Anthony Fraser, and Michael Egan pounced on the Jets’ runner for a safety and a hard fought 30-28 victory.
