DOMINGO, SATURNINO S.

Funeral mass took place Nov. 9 at St. Paul the Apostle R.C Church for Saturnino (Nino) S. Domingo of Jersey City, 83. He passed away Nov. 5. Nino was born in the Philippines in 1930. Nino obtained his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and immigrated to the United States in 1968. In the last 45 years, Nino was a profound leader in the Filipino community and was one of the original founders and served as first President of the Garden State Filipino American Association (GSFAA) and he also served as president of The Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society, and many other Filipino associations. Nino was recipient of the Jubilee Medal – Pro Meritis from the Archdiocese of Newark as a distinguish member of the St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church. Nino is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maura and their sons: Edgar, Edmund, Edwin, Edward, Emerson and daughter-in-laws: Beth, Nette, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Phoebe. He was the grandfather of 14 grandchildren: Rachel, Katleen, Erin, Enzo, Elle, Ervin, Manny, Eric, Emily, Sarah, Alex, Justin, Christian, and Jasmine. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
