To the Editor:
On Tuesday, October 29, Bayonne High School hosted a Fun Fest for elementary students. Activities included face painting, games, costume contest, and other Halloween related activities. A great deal of time and effort did go into the planning of the event. Unfortunately, the event received an unprecedented response which forced the administration to turn some children and their parents away. The high school administration truly regrets this occurrence and would like to extend our deepest apology to all involved. As educators, we all know how excited elementary children get at Halloween. The safety of our children was the driving force behind our decision.
The Bayonne High School administration hopes that all our elementary children and parents enjoyed a happy and healthy Halloween holiday.
