HUDSON COUNTY – Well, it’s clear how at least three Hoboken residents voted in Tuesday’s mayoral election in that city, as the candidates vying to be the city’s next chief executive stepped out of the ballot box grinning ear to ear on Wednesday.
Fourth Ward Councilman Tim Occhipinti, Mayor Dawn Zimmer, and Assemblyman Ruben Ramos all voted at different polling stations in the city’s 4th Ward on Tuesday morning. Occhipinti cast his vote early in the day at the Observer Highway firehouse, Zimmer, joined by her husband Stan Grossbard, voted just after noon at the Boys and Girls Club, while Ramos voted at the Multiservice Center after speaking to a group of supporters outside.
Other elections around the county
Voters in all towns in Hudson County can cast ballots in the gubernatorial race between Gov. Christopher Christie and state Sen. Barbara Buono, as well as races for state Senate and for two Assembly seats in each state legislative district.
The county sheriff seat is up for grabs.
Hoboken, Jersey City, and Guttenberg are holding Board of Education elections.
Hoboken also has a public referendum on the ballot about rent control. Statewide, voters can decide whether to increase the minimum wage.
