New York Times explores whether ‘Knockout Game’ is myth

HOBOKEN — In September, three Jersey City teenagers allegedly killed a homeless man in Hoboken with one blow to his head. Investigators said the kids were apparently playing the “Knockout Game,” in which kids try to knock someone down with one punch.
The consequences were very real. But after a recent media flurry over the game, the New York Times explored the extent of the trend in an article this past weekend.
In the article, police appeared to downplay the incidents. But they couldn’t say the game is a myth.
