To the Editor:
I’m writing to you about the Bayonne School Board. We deserve the right to vote on the members and we do not need the mayor to pick them anymore. We, the people of Bayonne have a voice and we deserve a choice. There is a petition that we need you to sign. It’s a petition to put a question on the ballot in May. Should Bayonne be reclassified and have a school board election? Most of us know the obvious answer: Yes. There are a lot of people who have doubts about this campaign. They don’t understand that our strength isn’t me … It’s the people coming together with me to create better things — people like you. We need your signature on the petition, now more than ever. Sign to stop the real bullying, and so that the people that care for our kids everyday won’t have their jobs at risk. One thing is true, we will be successful at listening to the families who live here and bringing together people who believed that better things are possible. And sometimes that is a novel approach in politics. We have an opportunity to show them just what that means. People who care can find solutions to even the most difficult challenges, and we want you to be part of the solution. Bayonne deserves the right to vote to start owning a piece of this historic movement.
