Dear Editor:
This year the Jersey City Police Union Partnership (JCPUP) collected over 1,000 toys for Jersey City’s most vulnerable families this holiday season. With the support of our members, some great organizations, family, and friends, 187 Jersey City children received gifts to unwrap Christmas morning. It could not have been possible without the efforts of Connie Bolger, Debbie Harris, Helen Ackerly, Kelly Schoch, and Santa’s elves on the Hudson Catholic Baseball team and Stephanie, Chris, and Matt Bolger. A hearty thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers who helped support this cause including the Irish Network NJ, Jersey City Fire Department, Hudson Catholic High School, Our Lady of Czestochowa School, Hudson Council Labor Council, St. Anne’s Church, the Astor Bar, and Brazicki’s Tavern.
As officers of the Jersey City Police Department, our oath to protect and serve doesn’t end with the workday or the holiday season but takes on a special meaning during this time of the year. We are grateful to all who helped brighten the lives of Jersey City’s children to make the JCPUP Toy Drive such a success.
Sincerely,
