Funeral mass took place Feb. 1 at St. Helen’s Church, Westfield, for John J. Flynn (Uncle Jack), 83. He died peacefully on Jan. 27. John was born in New York City. As a child, his family moved to Hoboken, where he lived most of his life. John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John is survived by his sister Anne M. Rogan and a bountiful number of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Catherine Flynn; his brother, Patrick J. Flynn; his sisters Mary T. McLaughlin and Margaret M. Hayes and his brother-in-law Edward F. Hayes. Uncle Jack will be greatly missed by The Hayes Family: Catherine, John, Stephanie, Anne Marie, Mary Beth, Terence and Edward.
