A funeral mass was offered Feb. 18 at St Ann’s RC Church, Hoboken, for Jean Catania, 82, a lifelong Hoboken resident. She passed away peacefully at the Harbor View Health Center in Jersey City after being a resident there for only two days. Most Hobokenites will remember her as the manager of the Grand Bakery located on the southeast corner on 8th and Willow Avenue for many years. Surviving are her three sisters, Sarah Pernetti, Kathleen Castellitto and her husband John, and Florence Pasquale and her husband Vincenzo; a sister-in-law, Josephine Catania, a host of nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew, Cash. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Jennie Catania; a sister, Amelia Pridmore; a brother, Peter Catania this past January; two nephews, Saverio Pernetti, and Anthony Castellitto; and a brother-in-law, Sam.
