BAYONNE – Hundreds attended the first campaign event of the season for Bayonne Mark Smith held at The Chandelier Restaurant on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
The mayor is running for another term in the May 13 non-partisan election.
At the affair, Smith announced his council slate, which remains unchanged. Current council members Terrence Ruane, Agnes Gillespie, Joseph Hurley, Raymond Greaves, and Debra Czerwienski all will once again run on the Smith ticket.
“We’ve made some tough, hard decisions and we’ve come a long way,” Smith said. “Let’s have fun, and then tomorrow the work begins for Bayonne.”
The kick off was attended by local, area, and state political figures, including former Gov. Richard Codey; County Freeholders William O’Dea, Anthony Romano, and Doreen DiDomenico; and former Jersey City mayor, Jerramiah Healy. – Joseph Passantino
