Dear Editor:
I was always of the belief that some people get into politics for all the right reasons. Some want to help their community, some may want to right certain wrongs and some just want to do good. But as history shows a lot of these people once caught up in the system give into the powers that be and compromise all their morals and beliefs to become part of that system. They then begin to sell out the people that elected them for selfish reasons.
In the aftermath of Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer coming forth with allegations against the governor I heard certain political analysts say that Mayor Zimmer is not a sophisticated politician other people say that she should cooperate with the governors office. I am not one of those analysts so I don’t really know what is protocol here but maybe, just maybe here is a politician who says “No I will not play the game and what’s right is right!” If that’s the case, well, isn’t that a refreshing change?
Paul Fried,
Hoboken
