Dear Editor
I am writing to express my frustration regarding the what seems like routine lying coming out of city hall. On February 24th the city Facebook page made a post regarding that 514 potholes were fixed to date. Yesterday, Juan Melli, the communications person for the city (also the person who controls the city Facebook page) sent out a press release stating that 284 potholes were fixed in the last week and further stating the total number of potholes fixed to date was 752. Last I checked 284 and 512 equal much more than 752, they equal 798.
The city wonders often why the pubic often questions our current administration. Throwing out random numbers on pothole repairs is low, the city is better off simply saying “we are working hard to fix potholes” without blatantly lying to the public if you lie about pothole figures then what else are you being dishonest about? This is a perfect reason why so many people discredit Dawn Zimmer’s parking lot conversation with the Lt. Governor.
