Bayonne Bridge remains open overnight Good Friday

BAYONNE — Overnight closure of the Bayonne Bridge is canceled for Good Friday and the bridge will remain open to vehicular traffic, according to an online posting.
The bridge is open to permit evening travel for the holidays, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said, according to SILive.com.
The span has been closed overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., to permit work on the construction project raising the bridge’s roadway to allow for larger container ships to travel underneath.
The bridge will still be closed overnight Thursday, April 17, until early Good Friday morning, Port Authority spokesman Chris Valens said. – Joseph Passantino
