The JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Floor Hockey season got underway with the Bruins and Blackhawks facing off in a Jr. Division bout. The Bruins took control early as Megan Feeley blistered the Blackhawks net with five goals while Kasper Hooks (3), Caitlin Feeley (1), and Arya Deshmukh (1) rang up assists. Trailing 5-0, the Blackhawks got a boost from Michael Egan who blasted in two net jets to make it a 5-2 contest. With their lead cut to 3, the Bruins’ fiery team captain Megan Feeley drilled in her sixth goal of the game to give her squad a 6-2 advantage. In need of a spark, the Blackhawks poured it on as Aaliyana Cifuentes, Declan Good, Roman Popowski and Harsh Easwar each put shots on net but once again it was the hot handed Egan who cashed in with his third goal to make it 6-3, Bruins. As the final minutes ticked away, Egan and company blasted away but the Bruins’ Declan McCormick dug in at net to preserve the Bruins’ 6-3 victory.
