Dear Editor:
Whenever I write an article about a potential candidate who is running for higher office, I use the brain that God has given me. This time, the words I share come from the heart.
William O’Dea is old school. While it might seem like he’s been around forever, it’s because he started out in politics at a young age. He is still young and sharp as a sword. He’ll tell you like it is whether you like it or not and he is not afraid of anyone. I’m sure he picked that up growing up as a kid on Ege Ave in Jersey City. If you ever need help in the arena of Hudson County government, O’Dea is the person to call. You can try every other route if you like but I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Nobody gets it done better than Bill. O’Dea Nobody!
Laid back and nonchalant is okay if you want to be the manager of a golf course but if your goal is to be a Government Leader in a wild county such as Hudson, you need that fire in your belly. You need to be a fighter. Battles are not won by nice guys who let the people around them make important choices. They are won by warriors who make key decisions themselves. While he fears no one, he is a friend to everyone. If someone has a problem with Bill O’Dea, they ought to look in the mirror because he is always working in the best interest of humanity. His quest is to do what is right for the people he represents, every last one of them and beyond. You will always get the truth from him and unlike other politicians that the average person might make reference to, the best four letter word to describe him is fair. His excellent writing skills are a reflection of his talent. He has an uncanny ability to work with numbers and formulas allowing him to possess the knowledge of what won’t work and what will.
Bill’s job as an executive for a non profit in Elizabeth requires intelligence as well as street smarts. O’Dea has both. His desire to create change for the better is transparent as his personality and infectious smile. O’Dea is the ultimate analyst who lives in reality. He is a financial wizard which is why he was so instrumental in acquiring an 8 million dollar grant in 2010 and well as over one billion dollars in new development. If you Google his name, NJBIZ has an informational piece about him that barely mentions politics. He doesn’t work multiple government jobs which is unusual for a Hudson official. He is a respectful person, and if you listen to him speak, he actually makes sense. Bill O’Dea makes sense for Hudson County.
