HOBOKEN — The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said a body was pulled from the Hudson River near the Hoboken Train Terminal early on Monday evening. Some news reports said that the body is a man’s.
It was not immediately known whether the person was from the Hudson County area or elsewhere. Two weeks ago, a woman’s body was found floating near Jersey City, and it turned out to have been a person who had jumped off the George Washington Bridge the day before.
ABC News reported late on Monday night, “The body was discovered in the water by ferry slips behind the Hoboken Lackawanna Terminal. It was taken to the Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted on Tuesday.” They said a passerby noticed the body around 5 p.m.
More details will be posted here when they are available.
Wednesday will mark a month since Hoboken jogger Andrew Jarzyk, 27, disappeared after running near Pier A in the wee hours of a rainy Sunday morning. The terminal is next to Pier A.
Police conducted a search of the water in the area for several days after the disappearance, but found nothing.
