Hoboken students to have ‘real college day’ at Stevens

HOBOKEN – The Stevens Institute of Technology is collaborating with the Hoboken schools (including Hoboken Public Schools, charter schools and private/parochial schools) to provide a real college day for local eighth graders.
On Monday, May 12, more than 100 of these middle school students will hear from Stevens President Nariman Farvardin, tour Stevens campus, classrooms and laboratories and take part in an activity promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning.
For more than 25 years, Stevens has worked with Hoboken schools, providing teacher training, classroom support, classroom materials, as well as student programs including Innovation Camp, WaterBotics and “Girl Day.”
Since 1992, Stevens has awarded close to $2 million in scholarships for 27 Hoboken students to attend Stevens.
