MCDONOUGH, BERNICE

A funeral mass was offered May 2 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Hoboken, for Bernice McDonough, 58. She passed away April 27 at Bayonne Medical Center. Bernice was a lifelong resident of Hoboken. Bernice fought a 53 year long courageous battle with diabetes and its side effects. She was the daughter of Ann McDonough and the late Bernard J. McDonough. Bernice graduated from The Academy of the Sacred Heart, and in 1976 from St. Francis School of Nursing. Bernice was an RN at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken for 28 years. She loved to read, shop, do word puzzles, and spend time with her dog, Max. She is survived by her siblings, Thomas McDonough and his wife Halima; Maureen Chiriac and her husband Alex; and Ret. North Hudson Fire Captain James McDonough; her aunts; cousins; and friends. Bernice was also loved and will be missed by her five nieces and nephews, Mary McDonough, Kellie McDonough, Alexander Chiriac, Thomas McDonough, and Grace McDonough. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
