As she wraps up her final season with the Freehold Township gymnastics team senior Samantha Gormley recently set her sights on continuing her academic and athletic careers at the college level. The Patriot standout recently signed a National Letter of Intent to take her talents up north to Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT., where she will join the school’s Acrobatics and Tumbling team. The Howell resident has been competing in gymnastics since she was just 4 years old and is currently the captain of her High School team. During her time on the high school mats, she has been a two-time All Shore team member. Outside of school, she is an Honor Role student and a member of the National Honors Society. She is a member of the Devlin Gymnastics Team in Manasquan NJ where she is a USAG Level 10 gymnast. She has been a two-time USAG Level 9 Regional qualifier and a Level 9 Nationals first alternate. She is the daughter of Rich and Theresa Gormley, formerly of Bayonne, and the granddaughter of Rich and Jean Gormley and Joseph and Maryanne Brauner of Bayonne.
