JERSEY CITY — A 5-year-old boy was shot outside the Salem Lafayette housing complex on Martin Luther King Drive around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, police confirmed.
The boy was crying when EMT’s arrived, and several older boys were trying to help him by putting their shirts around him, according to a published report.
He was brought to Jersey City Medical Center with a gun shot wound to the abdomen, and underwent surgery.
