JERSEY CITY — A missing developmentally disabled man, who left Washington State on May 29, apparently has been located in a Newark hospital, his sister posted on a Facebook page late on Monday evening.
Media reports said 29-year-old Cody Brown didn’t return from a trip to his local mall on May 29. Instead, his family found out that he withdrew money from ATM machines at Sea-Tac airport. He also told a friend he was going to the East Coast.
The next day, the family discovered that he had been treated at Jersey City Medical Center this past Friday, and released.
Security cameras caught him at the mall and then at the airport with two woman and a man. Relatives speculated that the strangers may have been traveling with him and pressuring him to withdraw money, a friend told News 12.
His family started a Facebook page to bring him home.
Monday night, his sister posted: “Cody Brown has been FOUND!!!! We have just received information that he was being treated at a hospital in Newark, NJ and his parents have since made contact with him. We do not have any specifics at this time but we want to thank everyone for their tireless effort and support. We would not have found him without YOUR help!”
