Funeral mass was held June 23 at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, Jersey City, for Dimitrios “Jimmy the Crazy Greek” Kalogiros, 69. He passed away June 20. Jimmy was well known as the proprietor of Crazy Greeks Restaurant at 123 MLK Drive, Jersey City. Jimmy loved Jersey City and was dedicated to its growth and development. He was charitable to many organizations, churches, schools and would help anyone in need. Jimmy loved spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed tending to his garden. Jimmy was the husband for 46 years to Kathy Kalogiros; father of Ronnie Kalogiros, Ioanna Gisone and husband Juan; grandfather of Lorena and Marcos; brother of Athanasia “Sia” and husband Tommy, Alexandros, Yiannis and Basilis; uncle of Helen, Gus, Ranie and husband Ogden and their children.
