Jude Orlando led Special Panthers to victory at state track meet

Jude Orlando led a 13 – member contingent, representing the Bayonne Recreation Panthers
Special Olympics track and field team, by copping two gold medals at the recently – held 2014 SONJ chapter summer games.
The three –day event was contested at the college of New Jersey (in Ewing) & the results follow:

800m walk:
4th – Jody Czucza and Barbara Mari
2nd – (silver medal) – Siearra Battle

400m walk:
6th – Jody Czucza
3rd – (bronze medal) – Wendy Didomenico
2nd – (silver medal) – Barbara Mari
1st – (gold medal) – Siearra Battle

100m walk:
4th – Michael Walsh
1st – (gold medal) – Debbie Lesane & Jude Orlando

200m dash:
3rd – (bronze medal) – Roger Belanger
2nd – (silver medal) – Samantha Ciemiecki & Ronald Benitez
1st – (gold medal) – Nicole Bawiec & Violet Malcolm

100m dash: 1st – (gold medal) – Francheska Huentelaf

Softball throw:
6th – Nicole Bawiec
4th – Debbie Lesane & Michael Walsh
3rd – (bronze medal) – Samantha Ciemiecki
2nd – (silver medal) – Wendy Didomenico
1st – (gold medal) – Jude Orlando

Shot put:
3rd – (bronze medal) – Violet Malcolm

The panther’s weekend was capped – off by their two relay squads:

6th – Roger Belanger, Samantha Ciemiecki, Nicole Bawiec & Ronald Benitez

4x100m walk relay (Jaguars):
1st (gold medal) became two – time defending state champions in this event
Barbara Mari, Siearra Battle, Jody Czucza & Debbie Lesane

Their very proud coaches Denise Bawiec, Theresa Diaz, and Tom Moody, who were ably assisted by Veronica Burns, accompanied the panthers to the meet.
