To the Editor:
I noticed that in our great city, certain rules apply only to certain people. For example, if someone puts out his or her garbage before 5 p.m., we get a ticket because there’s a city ordinance that says you can’t put it out before five. But how come the garbage collectors can ignore the city ordinance that says collection starts at 6 a.m.? It seems that they’re starting at about 5 a.m., waking up families who are getting rest for work, waking up children and babies along with all sorts of pets. We pay the garbage collectors about $1.4 million, so do they get tickets for breaking the rules like we would? Does Mayor Davis care about our quality of life for all blocks or just certain ones? I heard he doesn’t read the paper at all, ever. But maybe Juan Perez can talk to him.
