Thank you, Peter!

To the Editor:

I just want to give thanks to Peter Amadeo, Supervisor of Recreations for all the hard work that he did for the “2014 Summer Sounds by the Bay Concerts in Bayonne” at the DiDomenico 16th Street Park! We had a blast enjoying the music, chairs and water provided free by the sponsors for the soiree.
The ambiance was great, with breezes provided by the Newark Bay. I was also happy that it was mosquito free as well. Plenty of free parking also. I am so sad it is over, as many other Bayonne residents are, but I am sure Peter has some welcome relief from working his 9-5 job at City Hall in the Recreation Department, and all the hustling he had to do at the concert.
Besides setting up, taking pictures and announcing the bands and sponsors, he himself was picking up chairs left by residents, two to four at a time! That man had to be tired at the end of it all. The only thing I did not see him do was help being a roadie for the bands.
It was safe, fun, and completely free! Thank you to Inserra ShopRite Bayonne and others for the sponsorship of the concert and Ken’s Marine for the free water! Thank you to John Christian for his expertise in all-around duties of lighting, music, the sound board, emceeing, and performing! Thank you to all the other outstanding professional well-known bands that performed at the concert, too. I cannot forget to thank our local talents!
I cannot wait until the next summer concerts. Too bad for those who missed it. Please come out next year and enjoy. You meet and greet neighbors and friends whom you have not seen in a while too! I am sorry I missed it last year. Peter, we will be watching you hopefully climb the political ladder and one day you could be mayor of this great city!
