A funeral mass was offered Sept. 23 at St. Lawrence Church, Weehawken, for Margaret A. Barrett, 88. She passed away Sept. 19. She was born in Jersey City and was a life-long fourth generation Union City resident. Margaret retired after 28 years as an administrative assistant at the Department of Revenue and Finance in Union City City Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband George and her son William. Margaret was one of four children born to William and Margaret Donovan. Margaret was the mother of William, Mary Kennedy, Marjorie Capaccio, Maureen Scerbo and Brian. Margaret was the grandmother of Damian, Patrick, Sean, Robert, John, Michael and Briana. Margaret was also the great-grandmother of five and the aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
