A mass of Christian burial was offered Sept. 18 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp., for Richard F. Kroeper, 89, of Holiday City, Berkeley Twp. He passed away Sept. 11 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born and raised in Jersey City, he was a lifelong resident before moving to Berkeley Twp. in 1987. Richard received his bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University and was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He was the Frozen Food Division Traffic Manager for American Home Products in New York City for 32 years, retiring in 1987.
Richard was predeceased by his wife Evelyn in 2001. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Richard Jr. and Patricia Kroeper of Beachwood, and Michael S. and Helena Kroeper of Lincroft; two brothers, Nicholas of Middletown and James of The Villages, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Kaila, Colleen, Kathryn and Allison. His passion was reading books, having read every book in the Ocean County Library. Services arranged by the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, Toms River.
