COLON, PAUL A. SR.

Funeral mass took place Oct. 15 at St. Paul of the Cross RC Church for Paul A. Colon Sr., 90, of Jersey City. He died peacefully surrounded by his family on Oct. 10. He was born in New Yok City, lived in West New York for 18 years, and Jersey City since 1950. Paul was a transportation analyst for the U.S. Postal service for 42 years before retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the Army-Air Force during WWII and fought in the battle for Okinawa. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Carroll Council and an usher at St. Paul of the Cross RC Church in Jersey City.
Paul was predeceased by his wife Antoinette (nee) Gentile, his brother Louis W. and his sister Divina Clausel. Surviving are his children Paul Jr. and Evelyn of East Brunswick, Linda of Jersey City, Roseann and Frank Bartolone of East Brunswick, and Eileen and Israel Galarza of Holmdel, his brother; Edward and Gladys Colon of Ridgefield. Paul was the grandfather and great grandfather of Simone, Jacqueline, Carissa, Stephanie, Christian, Thomas, Rebecca, Mallory, Alexander, Kalleigh, and Ava.
