GUTTENBERG — Former Guttenberg Councilman Vincent Tabbachino has passed away, according to a story on NJ.com. He was 73.
Tabbachino was an accountant and had served on the school board. He was a retired Guttenberg police officer and also owned Tabbachino Associates, a tax preparation business.
He was also among the dozens of local leaders snagged by a government sting operation in 2009. In 2012, he was sentenced in 2012 to 41 months in prison for attempted extortion, and he admitted to laundering $125,000, NJ.com said.
It was unclear at press time if he had died in prison or closer to home.
