BAYONNE – Nearly three dozen local artists showcased their creative side at the “Bayonne Watercolors” art show, held from noon until 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Bayonne Museum.
The show was the brainchild of Deb Peveler and Lou Segura of the Beautify Bayonne group, dedicated to demonstrating Bayonne as a beautiful place, through the arts and grass roots cleanup efforts.
A steady stream of visitors attended the show throughout the day, Peveler reported.
Artists exhibited oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, photography, and more. Each was requested to include at least one piece depicting any of the bodies of water that comprise Bayonne’s three shorelines.
Segura said that the show sought diversity in the artwork.
Former Bayonne resident Rocco Scibetta hung acrylic on canvas, oil pastel, and mixed media creations, two of which captured the former Uncle Milty’s amusement park at 1st Street.
Three of the artists’ pieces had already sold midway through the day.
Peveler and Segura are the proprietors of All Fit Studios on Broadway. Patty Mulligan of Bergen Point also helped coordinate the event.
All exhibited works were also to be posted on the Beautify Bayonne Facebook page. – Joseph Passantino
