Comic art show group aiding cancer patient

BAYONNE – Comic Book Fans United hosted an art exhibit at Manifest Comics and Cards on Broadway from Oct. 16 to 18 to benefit two charitable causes.
CBFU is still seeking donations for a club member’s battle with cancer.
“We found out that Wendi Iserman, a CBFU member, had cancer and would soon be off her insurance and unable to pay for her medical bills,” said spokesman Sam Platizky. “We decided that we would donate 50 percent of art sold at our show to her and her cause.”

CBFU’s other charity is ArtWorks, the Naomi Cohain Foundation. The Jersey City group provides youth battling chronic and life-threatening illnesses access to creative and performing arts programming and materials. ArtWorks also encourages the use of the creative process as a vehicle for healing, communication, self-expression, and personal development.
