TRAYNOR, JOHN PATRICK

Funeral mass took place Nov. 21 at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City, for John Patrick Traynor, 72. He passed away surrounded by his family on Nov. 16. Born in Jersey City, John was a graduate of Dickinson High School. He served in the United States Navy and upon his discharge, went to work for the railroad, retiring from NJ Transit in 2002. After retiring he moved to North Carolina where he remained until moving back to New Jersey to live with his daughter. John was predeceased by his best friend and wife of 45 years, Dorothy Traynor; his daughter Melissa Salisbury and brother Richard Trainor. He is survived by his children, Rosemary and her husband Robert Tuohy, John P. Traynor, Jr.(JCPD) and his wife Anita, Nancy and Martin Hayes and Darlene and her husband Michael Burnett; his sisters, Kathleen Ogarek and Rosemary Blackwood; grandchildren Christopher, Erica, Taylor, John Partrick III, Gabriela and Alexander and great grandchildren, Evan, Christopher and Madison. John is also survived by his canine companion “D.J.” and his cats. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
