82 A Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, Sister Cecilia died December 20, 2014 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ. For more information please visit their website: www.parsippanyfuneral.com. Sister Cecilia was born in Jersey City, the daughter of Joseph and Adele Nolan Burns; and her stepfather, Vito Sabatini. She entered the Sisters of Charity on April 2, 1950 and was a member for 64 years. Sister Cecilia graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. Sister Cecilia earned both M.S. and APD degrees in Religious Education from Fordham University, Bronx, NY. Among Sister Cecilia’s many contributions to the church and to teaching, she was the Religious Education Coordinator in Saint Vincent, Bayonne. She retired to Saint Anne Villa in 2004 where she lived until her death. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her brother Joseph and his wife Mary Lou; several nephews, a niece; grandnephews, grandnieces and many dear friends.
