With all three JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division teams playing solid football, the (6-3) Bengals faced their first hurdle in trying to earn a top playoff seed when they took on the (3-6) Eagles. The Eagles hit paydirt first as Anthony Minotto hauled in a leaping TD grab. Down 6–zip the Bengals fired back as QB Drew Radil sailed a 35 yard TD bomb to Alex Camacho before taking an 8-6 lead on a two point toss to Jared Radil. Three plays later the Eagles regained the lead at 12-8 as FB Ryan Ballance reeled in his seventh TD of the season. Going to their talented stable of rookie slot receivers the Bengals built a 22-12 advantage on TD passes to Andres Giron and Kyle Arano with Arano also tacking on the two point conversion. Trailing by 10 to start the second half the Eagles defense stepped up as Anthony Minotto returned an interception for a 28 yard TD. One play later QB Chris Ballance made it 22-20 with a two point dart to James Bajor. Missing on a chance to land a knockout blow the Bengals offense got back to work with a goal to goal TD strike to Alex Camacho and a two point pass to Jared Radil making it 30-20, Bengals. With time ticking away the Eagles fired back with a coast to coast TD howitzer to Anthony Minotto and a two point lazer to Ryan Ballance cutting the Bengals lead to 30-28 with just 1:04 remaining. Hoping to run out the clock to Bengals went to their running attack as Ian Giron and Harsh Easwar reeled-off 10 yard gains while taking the clock down to 22 seconds. After a near “pick” by the Eagles Jacob Kowal the Bengals dug in to run the clock down to zero to hold on for a 30-28 victory.
