Lacrosse program planned for the Bayonne division of recreation this summer

Mayor James Davis has announced the division of recreation, in conjunction with the U.S. Sports Institute, will offer beginner’s lacrosse for young participants, ages 6 to fourteen.
The lacrosse camp is designed for new players who have little or no experience and will cover the fundamental skills and rules during the week-long program. All activities are “non contact” to ensure the safety of all children.
Lacrosse is open to boys and girls, and players will be grouped by age, playing ability and skill level. All equipment is provided making this an affordable way for children to learn the game.
Program highlights include stick familiarity, cradling and scooping, running with the ball, throwing and catching, and shooting and dodging. Lacrosse camp is tentatively set for June 22 through June 26 at Gorman Field. Times and pricing will be announced at a later date.
