Firefighters extinguish two-alarm Broadway blaze
The Bayonne Fire Department responded to 1031 Broadway on Monday, March 23 for a fire reported by a nearby business owner.
Firefighters arrived at 8:22 p.m. and were confronted with heavy smoke and fire emanating from the second floor front and rear windows of the two-story frame structure, according to Fire Chief Gregory Rogers.
“Firefighters advanced fire hoses from the interior to the second floor, and operated additional hoses from an adjacent roof to gain control of the fire that caused substantial damage to the second floor,” Rogers said.
