Two-alarm fire put out at Hoboken senior building

HOBOKEN — A two-alarm fire near the roof of the Marion Towers senior building at 400 First St. early Saturday evening was put out quickly by the Fire Department.
Thick black smoke could be seen in New York City, and several Manhattan media outlets reported on the blaze. However, it was put out within two hours and most residents were allowed to return.
No injuries were reported. By 7 p.m., one fire engine and a few officers and news crews were still on site, but the smoke was gone.
More details will be posted when they become available.
