Outstanding service from our city

Dear Editor:
Our city services’ attention to the fire at Columbian Towers on Saturday, May 2, 2015 was outstanding. Mayor Zimmer’s allowance of the senior citizens and the disabled tenants from Columbian Towers the use of City Hall and the Multiservice Center was both charitable and lifesaving.
The Hoboken Fire Department and the Hoboken Police Department are a credit to our fine city. They acted with extreme professionalism and confidence, and the seniors were their first priority – it was safety first and foremost! All were so pleased with their patience, courtesy, and care for all the frightened tenants. Mayor Zimmer so thoughtful and kind to have our displaced seniors fed at least two or three times, as well as supplying all the emergency ambulances. All the volunteer ambulance workers were extraordinarily kind and very professional, as well as all of our city inspectors.
The Red Cross was there to provide their excellent care services and gave the seniors and disabled tenants blankets for warmth and comfort.
We also must thank our staff, Carlos Rodriguez, Myrna Lleras, and Larry Pope, for all their hard work and long hours helping the seniors and assisting the fire department and police department throughout the whole scary and tragic period of the fire and afterwards.

Sincerely,
Janet DeGennaro, President, Prestige Management
Katie Dato, Vice-President, Prestige Management
Robert Dato, Chairman of the Board, Columbian Towers Development Company
