A funeral mass was celebrated June 6 at St. Joseph RC Church, Jersey City, for Katarzyna “Kasia” Parzych, 32. She passed away at her home on June 1. Kasia came to New Jersey from Krakow, Poland in 2001 to work as an au pair for the Walker family in Monroe. She also worked for various restaurants in the Jersey City area. Kasia was so talented as a speed skater that she auditioned to represent her native Poland in the Olympics. She won many medals for her athletic successes over the years. Kasia was also a gourmet cook and delighted in being the perfect hostess.
Kasia leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Peter Parzych; her mother and father, Janusz and Jozefa Cyron; sister-in-law Mary Lee Yanick; brothers-in-law Stanley and his wife Dawn, William and his wife Michelle, and Paul; nephews and nieces Leone Cueto, Barbara and Alison Parzych; great-nephews and nieces Daniel, Corryne and Christian Joseph and Rhys; her host family, Carole and Andy Walker, and their children Rachel and Brandon; and Kasia’s best friends, Sabina Piotrowska and Mikie “D”.
