A funeral mass was held June 24 at Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus for Thomas Eckert, 47, of Secaucus. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 20. Tommy was born in Jersey City and lived in Jackson, before moving to Secaucus over 25 years ago. He was a custodian for the Secaucus Board of Education for the past 17 years. Tommy was also an honorary member of the Secaucus Fire Department Rescue 1, Engine 2. He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Acerra), his son, Thomas; his parents, Richard and Frances Eckert; his sisters, Sue Eckert and Donna Demaio and his brother,Richie Eckert. Tommy was predeceased by his sister, Debbie Eckert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
